This was not made known that you need phone that does not have buttons to dial out on receiver. So I am unable to use it until i can buy a new phone
Until I purchase a new phone with the key pad located in the base rather than in the handset, I will not be able to test this item.Unfortunately this is not noted in the description of the item. One has to carefully read the package instructions to determine why the amplifier does not work on a phone with the key pad in the handset.
A possable cause is the type of hearing defect. This device has helped me to hear better on the phone, but I still have some trouble understanding people. I am still trying different ways to use the device both with and without my hearing aids.
All in all - a great solution to my problem at an amazingly low price. I bought two - one permanent - for the phone at work and another portable one that I haven't used yet but can take with me if I need it somewhere else. I have not used the boom button yet (which mutes your voice to eliminate background noise) - because the volume control is more than adequate. This product is fantastic - the volume control on the left is very powerful and I can't imagine ever needing to put it up all the way. The telephone system there has a volume control on each phone that barely works and resets every few minutes back to the original volume. I bought this amplifier to use at work. I am hearing impaired and wear a hearing aid - which makes it worse because my hearing aid's "telephone compatible" switch is awful (working on purchasing a better aid next year) - and it makes high pitched interference sounds if the telephone switch is not on. I share my phone with a co-worker who is not hearing impaired and the volume control allows her to set it at a comfortable level for her as well.
I lost my money in this useless product I tried a lot to catch when it do and when it work nicely but I failed. I purshased this product for my mother.It give a loud buzzer when we put it in the lower volum for us to us the phone normally. it sometimes gives the same buzzer when my mother use it. It ends up with me disconnecting it from the phone and leave it aside.
